IF god was a DJ?

January 31, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

I discovered this video on Youtube yesterday ‘IF god was a DJ? Neale Donald Walsh’ (View it at the bottom of this blog) and while I enjoyed the audio, the visuals for me touched on the great predicament of life. The visual story line shows that it is very hard to do anything that will be a positive for everyone in life; even your best and most honourable actions ultimately will end up affecting someone beyond your field of view in a negative way.

The minute we are born we all start having an impact on others not to mention the planet; you may have a low carbon foot print but what about your karmic foot print? While you may love your life, spread peace to all you meet, help both people and animals and the Earth you can not really see how your actions ripple out into the universe. Who knows, one day despite the best will in the world you may utter just one unknowing word to the wrong person that will unleash a chain of negative events onto the world, which could even result in many deaths. People may scoff at such an idea; this is usually because they perceive themselves as unimportant. In my experience there are no ‘bit parts’ in the drama of life, you, no matter who you think you are have a staring role in this production. So it follows that no action you make no matter how mundane or muted is without consequence.

What chain of events will you set in motion this very day? When you have to fire a person at work, decline someone credit, or a place in a night club or hotel. When you take out your aggression on a sales clerk because of faulty goods, honk at the driver in front for not moving off at your required speed. Even when you ‘just’ smile at someone or don’t something comes from it, just by your very being you are creation in action. Even when you’re dead the very act of die-ing or the disposal of your body sets off hundreds of connected events you just can’t see or know.

How do we get through life then? I believe by knowing that the universe requires us to play our role no matter what it is, the reasons we do what we do and think the way we do is all part of the great cosmic dance.

I don’t know very much about why life is the way it is, but I know that like man, Nature both destroys and creates but unlike man, nature views it all without judgement.

It’s a hard pill to swallow that very few of histories ‘Evil leaders’ ever saw themselves in that light, they saw themselves as just doing what they thought was best for themselves their family and their people. We want people we don’t agree with or like to be monsters because then we can persecute them without having to look into why they are like they are, how we would act if we saw the world through their eyes. Plus if the people are monsters they are not us, so we can do what we like to them without it affecting our Karma or humanity (hmm it’s just like what we do to animals, but that’s another blog)

I often play the ‘Devil advocate’ by that I mean (Dictionary time) One who argues against a cause or position, not as a committed opponent but simply to determine the validity of the cause or position. I do this because I know I’m not right on any subject, but neither in truth is anyone else. For the person with a true open mind and heart and a non dualistic view of the universe all things in life can both be justified and condemned depending on your stand point and perception. As Lewis Carroll said “everything’s got a moral, if only you can find it.’

On Neale Donald Walsh

For me ‘Neale Donald Walsh’s conversations with god (book one) is a wonderful book (and an even better audio book) that I became aware of just at the very moment I needed it, the message was important to me for it confirmed my view of the power that drive the universe. As you Know I don’t follow any one religion or belief but I feel that like all spiritual works it holds a deal of ancient wisdom within it. Now I know many people see the book as deeply offensive and dislike (I use mild word) Neale for the ‘evil’ they perceive he has done, that just goes proves my point of the blog, what heals one person kills another.

Did Neale talk to god? When anyone sits and truly considers a situation they bring a point of view with them, ultimately after a time of inner debate that person confirms or over turns their view point. Often they will say I just had a flash of inspiration and saw how it must be, was that chemicals in the brain? or was that something greater than we know? Neale will not be the first person to view inspiration as the voice of god and he won’t be the last. I can not say if Neale did or didn’t talked to god but this debate clouds a book that at it’s core can heal and bring comfort not to mention peace to those it was intended for and for those it wasn’t it can bring nothing but angst .

Any way enough of my ramblings watch the video and see the chain of events unfold. It should give you something to think on ……

Have a great weekend

Awakening

January 29, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

One of the strangest things about life for me is sleep. I have never, no matter how hard I tried, ever caught myself at the exact point of going to sleep. Once I am asleep I have no knowledge of being so and it is only upon awakening that I’m aware that I was asleep at all.

Like many of life’s most amazing mysteries, people generally give little thought to sleep and the fact much of their life is spent somewhere else. I find it highly amusing that people spend a fortune on drugs and drinks to quote ‘get out of their heads’ when really they could do it for free and simply go to sleep. Where we go when we are asleep I do not know. Some people have amazing dreams which they can relay scene by scene. I can say, with a little disappointment, I have very few dreams that I can recall.

The fact that we can go somewhere without knowing where at least once a day has lead many people to hypothesize on the possibility that our life and lives could have many unknown layers. Given this state of unknowing, it’s not too far of a stretch to see all life could be merely another form of sleep or dreaming state that we awake from when we die. Films like the matrix have questioned whether reality is even real at all. Most people find such concepts so silly, worrying or complicated that they dismiss them without even giving them a second thought.

The Awakening I am referring to in my artwork is not the one brought on by a bleeping alarm. It is in fact the awakening that happens when you open your mind to all the possibilities of life in a non dogmatic and judgemental way. Such mental freedom is both scary and exhilarating while being sadly irritating to all who have not decided to awaken.

Before we go any further I want to state one thing, for me an awakened state and an enlightened state are not the same. I am currently in an awakened state but I am not enlightened (well not as far as I know). I have simply opened up myself to all the possibilities. I now choose to say all is possible until proven otherwise, while pure sceptics state the very opposite. I believe an awaken person lives in total uncertainty and unknowing but is happy to shrug off the need for definitive answers.

Both science and religion may mock this vagueness. In a universe that could have up to 500 billion galaxies in it, according to a German super computer recently, I believe it amazingly arrogant and naive to say we know all the answers. I respect everyone’s opinion to believe what they want and I am sure that in time many scientific theories and religious beliefs will be proven correct. Sadly the inability to wait for the answers, no matter how many thousands of years it may take, points to a childlike need to be right. Many grow frustrated at the unknowing and feel much disempowerment, I personally find the state profoundly wonderful and liberating. Of course, it could come about that we are all simply a dream in the mind of an intergalactic space turtle and with that, I’m off to have a cup of tea…

Above is my artwork Awakening I have to confess I have always had a problem with this picture but many seem to like it including my wife. I don’t believe an artist can always resonate with all his work. The head in the images has been pointed out to me a number of times (can you see it?) I have to confess I didn’t until one day it was obvious to me, I can guide you to the general area:-
Its in the lower half of the image and the face is looking down towards the bottom left hand corner. You can see the face two closed eyes a nose and back of the neck. It really doesn’t matter if you can’t see it or not as I always say ’see it your way’. For me the picture shows the explosion of confusion that comes to those that suddenly see all is not as they thought, it can be a both wonderful and distressing time for many .

Awaken from the egos lies and see the beauty in the now, you are whole and perfect as you are’

The Power of No (Yes I mean No!)

January 26, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

It was not until I hit forty that I learned the positive power of saying a truthful respectful ‘No’. Before that I can’t image how many times I found myself saying yes to things I really didn’t want to do, I wrongly perceived that by saying yes was the right thing to do. This perception brought a great deal of stress unhappiness and often Debt into my life.

In the past, when people found out I was an artist/photographer or simply had a basic understanding of the internet they would ask me to do little jobs from them. This would be anything from shooting a portfolio for a budding model, building a website, creating book and cd covers, web banners logos, even newsletters and flyers.

Some of the time I did these things because I really wanted to but most of the time I took on mind crunchily boring tasks simply because I couldn’t say No and in doing so I gave myself a world of problems. Sometimes it wasn’t as clear cut as saying yes to a propositions, often I talked myself into offering my service because I could see that someone was desperately in need of help in my areas of know how. I believed that by helping people out they would not only be grateful and think well of me, I also believed positive things (often of financial nature) would come from it.

I can honestly say that in all the years I said yes to others or to myself when I really wanted to say no, nothing ever good came from it. Often I found myself creatively and mentally exhausted, Jobs I had taken on as favours of ‘good will’ would become ugly affairs where I found myself justifying my creative approach to projects with people who wouldn’t have got anything if I hadn’t of offered my services. Other paid jobs that where taken on just for money became black holes for creativity and while I always did my best on any project I undertook I found it a joyless time. It was at the low end of an expensive studio venture that had back fired leaving me in debt that I created ‘oppressed’ the image that would inspire me to change my world and bring who I was and what I really wanted at my core to the surface.

While many people would say that I had to go through all the negative stuff to find my purpose in life I’m not so sure. If I had only listened to the feeling inside of me that had been saying no, no, no and been brave enough to project that into the world I would avoided much misery. I now have become a great advocate of ‘following your bliss’ (If it doesn’t make you happy don’t do), If something doesn’t feel right, doesn’t resonated I say No, even if it would appear to others to be turning up a perfect opportunity. Sometimes saying No lets down friends and family, but I can say it now without a sense of guilty because I know in the long run it brings me a far calmer and more karmic lifestyle, also it makes me a much better friend or family member.

Many people would say saying No is not an option in their life because they need money or friendship and a No would cut them off from these things. I can not advise you on the way you live your life, I can only say that if you do something that the ‘small still voice inside you’ doesn’t want to do you will ultimately end up far less empowered and far more miserable than the few seconds of embarrassment you may experience when you say a truthful ‘NO’

If you look around at our economic melt down you can see that if more No’s had be spoken we would now not be awash in a sea of debt. I believe that once you utter an honest no because you have listened to your spirit (if you wish to call it that) the universe opens up instantly other possibilities which were never at first apparent, as one door closes another shall be opened.

Having the Power to say ‘No’ has given me the much needed space to realize my life’s purpose and experience the true joy of being in the flow of life.

Addition:-

This morning (27 th Jan) I was sent an e-mail from Kim Demotte about his website www.powerofno.com which  has taken the power of saying No into the corporate and management worlds, If you have resonated with my post above you may like to check out the site and all it’s in-depth info thanks Kim for the e-mail.

Connection to Source

January 22, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

Your connection to Source power can be never broken, it flows across the universe as an unseen network of energy. No- thing is ever excluded from this Divine Matrix. Via these invisible strands of vibration energy all things are connected, they know not of dualism of right or wrong. While you may believe your life falls short, that the world has cast you under a great shadow of doom and gloom that is only your perception, made without access to the whole cosmic picture. It is said this universal energy mimics your own, that via your thoughts, but more so your feelings you manifest the world in which you live.

So that said you can’t commend your self for what’s good in your life and blame what’s bad on others, for you bring it all forth. Within even the most perfect summer garden weeds are growing. Take time to look beyond your surface bliss and idyllic hopes, seek what thoughts and feelings dwell within you, for there is the place you sow the seeds for your future. The Source can never truly manifest anything from just a shallow positive thought; it builds from your core feelings, your inner truth. So I say again in another way, the Source knows not of the lies and deception, it truly only can weave from our deepest (and sometimes darkest) convictions, many of which we have glossed over but have never truly faced.

Enigma of the Gods

January 21, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

This image stands as an icon for all those scriptural and sculptural puzzles that lie across the earth both found and yet undiscovered. These ancient works may well hold within them keys to unlock the enigma of both gods and men. Could old world wisdom’s point to a time in space where man originated from some other world? or may the knowledge from the past once again simply ask us to look within for the answers we seek.

Stop worrying and enjoy your life.

January 19, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

For the many readers of this blog that do not live in the UK I must explain what a small group of fanatical? Atheists have done. They have paid for a poster campaign on some of the city buses; it reads as follows “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”

Now depending on your personal perception you may find this anywhere from highly amusing, to a valid point, to just simply deeply offensive. For many the fact that the ad was thought up, supported and paid for would suggest that these people are really not taking their own advice. In truth, most people in the UK weren’t worried about it, compared to other countries around the world most everyday people in the UK don’t even give God a second thought.

In a world that loves to pigeon hole I would say I resonate towards ‘new age spirituality’ but even that in some minds will paint the wrong picture. The two quotes that probably best describe my personal view of life are: ‘Life is so much more than simply the result of random act of science’ and ‘All is possible till proven otherwise’. I choose to believe that everything is driven by a power beyond our imaginations and is linked by energy which I and many others call the Divine Matrix. I’m happy to call that driving force ‘god’ or the ‘source’, I really have ‘stopped worry’ about a name for it. If you think that my belief sounds like a complete load of rubbish that’s just fine.

I didn’t always hold such an open minded or ‘new age’ approach to life. I grew up and lived in a world where science ruled. I was unaware then that most of science fact was just science theory and that science had done far more to destroy the Earth than any religion ever could.

Without any real thought on my part, I’d been indoctrinated into the big theories like evolution and the big bang. I went along with the naive belief that nuclear power was the only way forward, and that any problem humans had could be solved by the big brains and white coats. Finally I also have to confess I held a polarized but popular view, that religion had nothing to offer the modern world.

As you may know in 2006 I had an awakening to the fact that all was not as it had seemed and that most of the perceptions of life I held as reality where fundamentally flawed.

I have the deepest respect for the importance both religion and science has in billions of peoples lives, I can not say in truth who is right or wrong or even if anyone on the planet really knows what life, god, the earth or universe is or isn’t . I personally will not be drawn into age old arguments which have no end. I hold the view that tolerance is the key to our survival on this planet, as we are fools if we believe we will truly ever agree on anything.

That is the reason why much against my better judgement I brought this subject up. For as silly or insignificant as the atheist bus may seem, my perception of it is of a group of people metaphorically poking a hornets nest with a stick and seeing what trouble they can brew. This campaign shows us once again how a few with that most troublesome need to be ‘right?’, can destroy the harmony of others and in so doing put at risk the wonder and beauty of the planet. Ultimately any fool can start a war (verbal or otherwise), it’s the peace thing we all need to get to grips with.

My final thought is if many are like Richard Dawkins can’t enjoy life because of the need of others for a god, then both he and they will be driven insane by my artwork which addresses the possibility that we all have god essence within us.

Metatron

January 14, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

‘Metatron’ is another Archangel but unlike Michael and others he is mentioned in very few of the worlds religious texts. Metatron it is said was once Enoch (a mortal man) prophet and scribe. Metatron has a great link with scared geometries and if you wish more info I would Google both Metatron and Metatrons cube.

As of writing I know that once again this work is asking me/you to challenge our perceptions on something. Maybe for me it’s my view of who and what angels are, I confess my logical mind finds it very hard to align with the archetypal angel image. I say this not to offend but simply to remain honest with you. I have no doubt that my need to understand everything is a weakness that all man is accused with. Maybe this is the simple message of the work:-
‘Stop trying to figure it all out’.
We are spinning on a planet in the vastness of space in a constant state of confusion and anxiety. Maybe it’s just time we sat back and enjoyed the view without the need to judge or categorize. This need to comprehend could be the very thing that blocks our bliss and kills our spirit. Could by Knowing less, we live more? I believe so.  Below my Newly released Print as of 14th Jan 2009 – Metatron

My other Archangel prints are :-Uriel http://www.tonypinfold.biz/Uriel.html

Uriel in literature is referred to as the “fire of God,” “flame of the sun,” “angel of the presence,” and the “archangel of salvation,”
Michael http://www.tonypinfold.biz/Michael.html

Call upon Michael to assist you when you are in doubt and fear, let these emotions be replaced by confidence, strength and success.
Michael or to give him his full title Saint Michael the Archangel has be written of in many religious and spiritual texts he is considered to be one of heavens highest ranking angels second only to Gabriel. He is generally presented as the field commander of the Army of the Divine. For many in Islam Michael is the chief angel of blessings. In Spirituality Archangel Michael serves on the blue ray of spiritual light and is linked with the throat Chakra. Blue rays are said to  provides us with spiritual and physical protection and is pivotal to the proper expression of power and leadership.

Note:-
My personal Views are of a ‘New age spirituality’
That said I seek not to convert others to my way of thinking. I respect all religious and non religious view points. Unless we can learn to tolerate others and restrain ourselves from forcing our views on the unwilling, we are doomed to repeat mankind’s darkest times again and again. Dr. Martin Luther King said – Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend. As with all things worth doing it’s easier said than done.
