The Eternal Spirit Radio Show

July 29, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

On wednesday 5th of August I will be on The Eternal Spirit Radio Show with Paul Salmon between 10am and 11am (UK) I’m not sure how long I will be on for or what i will be talking on (Visionary art, Non -duality, etc )  but if you want to listen in from anywhere around the world I believe you can do so Via the Radio stations website www.icrfm.co.uk.
While i have done my own podcasts in the past i have never been on live radio before so that should be fun. A few years ago I would have had many sleepless nights over doing such a thing but nowadays I just take it as it comes, what’s the worst that can happen? I end up sounding like a mad man (nothing new then lol) . I’d like to be able to record the show  but i not sure how I would.
Paul Salmon also runs a Magazine called the Eternal Spirit you can find out more about that at  http://www.eternalspiritmagazine.com well worth a look if you find Psychics, spiritualism and Esoteric subjects Interesting.

Ramana Maharshi

July 25, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

While I do not believe anyone needs a guru or a teacher to find truth and peace, I do think it is always pleasing and refreshing to view how others live.  I have come to know of Sri Ramana Maharshi 1879 – 1950 only in the past month and I have to confess I found his life very fascinating and deeply moving. If you have the time and the inclination I would ask you to watch this video I discovered on Ramana Maharshi life. In a world where most seem to validate their existence with endless chit chat,  this Indian Sage maintained silence for long periods of his life absorbed in self enquiry, touching on what I have spoken about before that the answers we seek are within us and can never be found in the outer world.

Many people found themselves drawn to this humble man full of Humility even though he never sought followers and in truth had no really message to sell. He was a man content simply being and that amazes many of us in the west who can’t stop doing. His life was a still celebration of oneness and while few of us would ever want to live as he did, he like many great avatars pointed us in a direction which few dare to look (Within).

Do not believe Ramana Maharshi had something you don’t, do not believe you have to go to Indian to discover some lost truth or wisdom, if you do I believe you will have missed the whole point. You are connected to the everything right where you are and to think otherwise means you still can’t grasp your own divinity within.

Nondualism: – just not sexy enough…

July 17, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

I have been on the road with my art work for just over two and a half years. In that time I have met thousands of people, yet I have met very few that have got excited by the concept of Nondualism ‘oneness’. Often when I have explained the concepts behind my art that touches on this subject I see a glazed look form over the people’s faces, so I usually quickly change the topic.

This puts me in a dilemma because my train has finally come into the spiritual station so to speak, the seeking and the searching has been called off.  I am happy with what I have discovered the ‘ is’ness’ of life, the all encompassing oneness that is where it (me, you, everything) is at. Via self inquiry inspired by my work I have found my truth, sadly it seems it’s just not sexy enough.

I guess very few people would used the word sexy to describe spiritual beliefs but I have come to believe that often religious and spiritual beliefs are formed on what looks or feels good. Nondualism requires no mantras, services, ways of dressing, books, diets etc… It, by it’s very nature is doing free. You can have all those aforementioned things if you so wish, but as everything is as it should be and nothing ‘more’ is required it really doesn’t matter. And that my friends, I repeat once again, just isn’t sexy for people.

Nondualism raises a lot of questions in the egoic mind. Sadly for those that need words nondualism side steps dialogue. It is a slippery eel of a subject, and in many ways some of the ‘spiritual’ questions don’t get answered. I, myself in some ways feel I have been dumped back on the same bit of road that I started this journey in late 2006, yet with one massive difference. In late 2006 I felt that I was lost, incomplete, a failure, that I had to find something that would fix me up now I know that just isn’t true. Life has no point, no finishing line, it requires no-thing from you. So failure is just a mind-made perception and never a truth, as that old song goes ‘Everyone’s a winner baby’

Nondualism, depending on how you perceive it, can appear cold and indifferent but it can also be the universal and unconditional love my work points to. Think about it, can True love really be love and have conditions? I would say not but in truth most of us have never experienced such a love and such a love could seem to a mind brought up on conditions as totally uncaring. How you judge a parent that says to a child ‘do what you want?’ is basically how you may view nondualism, is such a parent loving and supporting no matter what, or totally indifferent and unloving. Of course because it’s nondualism you don’t judge and it is in fact both but our minds can’t even know what that is.

So I return to my favourite description of everything as  ‘just is’. Life ‘just is’ and so we come full circle for the mind ‘just is’ doesn’t cut the mustard and isn’t sexy for it answers nothing in a way we understand.

Personally something that is everything that can and can’t be seen, heard, touched, thought about sounds pretty darn amazing to me. So if Nondualism was a single person you could share a night with it would look you straight in the eye and say ‘do what you want’ now in my book that sounds sexy to me :-)

My New Image ‘Crucifying the Ego?’

Like all my works this image challenges ones perceptions rather than makes a statement. It is down to you, through self inquiry to contemplate on what you think the ego is or isn’t.  Personally I do not now see the ego as some insane ruler that lives in it’s own kingdom (even if i have created a image by the name Kingdom of the ego). I also do not believe Crucify the poor blighter is the answer or even possible for humans. The ego is the motor behind the doing of life (not the being), it does appear to cause a lot of problems but would you really want to live without it?
Also what would a egoless person really look like, and how would they act ?
Could a egoless Person in truth really exist on earth?
Ultimately whatever conclusion you arrive at it really doesn’t matter but every time you question yourself I believe you open up a possibilities to see the world from a universal perspective in which no answers are really ‘the answer’ and that the world of definitive black and whites, rights and wrongs is just a illusion and that everything as i have said before ‘Just is’.

If you would like to support what i do you can buy this image on my Pathway gallery http://www.tonypinfold.com/pathways.html

Thank You for being you.

Spiritual free fall (Nondualism)

My new work Nondualism  http://tonypinfold.com/Oneness.html
About the Image:-I found myself working on this image which seems to have a vast array of duality in it light and dark, good and evil, even a few conflicting religious beliefs. It seem obvious to me that this image had to be called Nondualism because I have come to believe that all these apparent differences are in fact all part of the one. A simply challenge of ones perceptions again and again will librate you from the illusion of separations, where all things have equal value no matter how important or inconsequential they may appear .

About the Image:-
I found myself working on this image which seems to have a vast array of duality in it light and dark, good and evil, even a few conflicting religious beliefs. It seem obvious to me that this image had to be called Nondualism because I have come to believe that all these apparent differences are in fact all part of the one. A simply challenge of ones perceptions again and again will librate you from the illusion of separations, where all things have equal value no matter how important or inconsequential they may appear .

Ever since starting my spiritual awakening with my first image ‘Oppressed’ I have been seeking an answer to life. I have spent days, months and years pondering the why’s and how’s, of how I came to be here on a rock spinning through space and what the point was. Now I believe I have answered that question but not in a way many will like. I know that many will see my view of the Universe and beyond as rather empty and even scary.
I had no Idea when I started this journey that I would arrive at a conclusion that would fly in the face of most peoples belief systems and that would enable me to accept everyone’s believe systems without a need to correct or embrace them. Nondualism  is my answer and what a mind bending answer it is. It matters not to me if you agree with what I have discovered, I ask only that everyone truly challenges their own perceptions via deep contemplation again and again and see where it takes them.

What then is Nondualism?
Maybe this short video may help…

…If it didn’t then maybe you are too quick to reject the concept and so unable to understand it.

We Are One
This is where the concept of ‘We are One’ stops just being a cool saying and becomes the everything. This is where everything that can or can’t be seen, heard, or felt becomes one. This is the place where hate and love dance together, where war and peace are sides of the same coin. This is the place where everything and nothing happens, separation is an illusions, you can agree with it, mock it, reject it, it matters not for the One that we all are seeks no approval from it’s self. You can dance through the halls of separation for lifetimes it matters not. For no matter how far you run, how well you hide, you can’t escape the everything that is You.

Distance matters not, just as the toes may seem like a million miles away from the hairs on your head from the perspective of a single cell you view you body as one and whole without separation. If you extend that view out into the universe you can see that your body is linked to planets and stars that you may never have even viewed with your earthly eyes. For what is a tree without earth and water, what is the earth and water without the planet. Everything is linked be it above or below, within or without only from your point of observation do things appear separate and as we all know appearances are very deceptive.

Not Easy
Non duality is not an easy concept to grasp, for everything we have ever learnt from our earliest moments have been pointing to what makes us different, separate and who’s Ego wants to be linked to that which they hate or fear. You are one with everything no matter if you like it or not. Block out the concept if you wish, but just like your own earthly death, it will come whether you like it or not, one lifetime (if not this one) you will have a realization that you really are a part of this cosmic dance, of which there are no wall-flowers.

Finally.
Below is an interview I discovered when I was looking for videos that may help explain what I know to be true.  I have never even heard of Tony Parson before today and you may not full understand or resonate with what he is saying but I find it fascinating that he touches on some of the titles of my work ‘Unconditional love’, ‘Liberation from illusion’ and ‘Universal Love’.

Enjoy…

Returning from Quest

July 6, 2009 tonypinfold Comments off

Wow what a great 4 days we had at Quest (Newton Abbot Devon) and what a wonderful group of people we met. I have never been to a show before with such a friendly vibe. We have discovered a whole host of talented people who I just know you will resonate with.  I will write more on them over coming days and weeks, but for now here are some links to our new and old friends we met over the weekend. I’m off to recover from my night time drive back to Essex and four nights in a tent.

Danu Fox
What a amazing voice this lady has I will be writing more on her soon…

Hathormoon’s
These two ladies were a breath of fresh air, they were running the stall oposite to us and they made the weekend really enjoyable. Little ‘T’  brought one of their pagan tunics but they sell all manner of Craft Materials for creative projects with pagan and esoteric themes, and handcrafted pagan items, all brought from ethical sources. Highly recommended.
